In 1978, the average American home burned 1,297 gallons per year. In 2005, the average number of gallons burned is 860. This is a 33.6% decrease per household! How can I determine the age (or life expectancy) of my system?

Check the serial number; the date of manufacture may be listed within this number. Also, look for labels and tags near the unit. There are over 36 oil-producing countries. Perhaps surprisingly, more than 40% of our crude oil comes from right there in the USA.
